Supermodel of the WORLD

I receive a lot of questions regarding how to begin modeling, so I've made this li'l post with some tips!

Right now, the modeling industry is more accepting of diverse body types than it ever has been. With the rise of social media, companies engage with customers on a more intimate level, and have thus realized that their shoppers enjoy seeing models who look like them! (No doiiii, right?!) This means modeling is something anyone can get into now. If you want to try it out, I say, GO FOR IT.

I think it's best to start working with friends or people in your area. Start a portfolio, apply and reach out to small companies about shooting with them. Don't expect to be paid at first - you've got to build experience! Social media is a HUGE help for anyone wanting to try something new. You can connect with potential work partners, bring yourself exposure, and find out if whatever you're trying out (modeling in this case) is something you want to pursue!! Yay internet!!

Concrete actions you can take:
  • Reach out to photographer friends (or photographers in your area) who are interested in building up their portfolio - this way you both benefit from shoots!
  • Contact online shops (located near you) to see if they're looking for models.
  • Meet other creative types in your area, and see if anyone is down to collaborate on a photo shoot!

The most important thing to do is to START. If you never email a company about modeling you'll never know if you could have worked with them. Reach out! That is key! :)

I hope this advice is helpful for all ya babes out there!! Good luck!!

*In ringmaster voice* AND NOW..... Time for the outfit part of the post! *Taaadaaaa - confetti flies everywhere* :-P
Here is a super colorful-tie-dye-rainbow outfit I wore this week:

CLOTHES:  Rainbow Tie Dye Kimono Jacket - Inspiring Color  ,  Tie Dye Dress & Lace-up Boots - Vintage (similar HERE and HERE)
ACCESSORIES:  Sun Choker & Fairy Necklace - c/o Spiro Chokers  , Crescent Moon Necklace - Waiste
HAIR/FACE:  Makeup by Jennifer Des Lauriers  ,  Hot Hot Pink, Rock n Roll Red Classic, After Midnight Classic Cream Formula Hair Dyes - Manic Panic

Yay! So much color!! Tie dye is by far my favorite print. I have every type of clothing item in tie dye, except shoes (which I am hoping to remedy soon.. hey Rocket Dog 90s Tie Dye sneaks...)

I hope you have a fabulous day, and great week to come! :)
